Day 9 (the last day) of General Convention began with our worship together and Michael Curry as preacher. His one word for us to take away was "GO", and I put that in caps because of the powerful way he emphasized that little word from Jesus' great commission. He reminded us that we are all part of the Jesus Movement and nothing can stop us from going out to change the world! If you have a chance to listen to Michael Curry's words, I commend them to you. Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori presented Michael Curry with a letter of congratulations from President Obama. Then we were off to the business of the day where we worked our way through many resolutions and adjourned at 6 p.m. with both the House of Bishops and House of Deputies completing all that was planned. Part of the day's fun included Committee 11 (Liturgy and Music) singing a newly created song to the House of Deputies to the tune of "I Bind Unto Myself" with new words of our virtual binder and electronic voting devices! After dinner with most of our CT deputation, I began thinking about my first day of sabbatical--July 4th in Park City, Utah. Stay tuned… With blessings and gratitude, Linda+
